POEMS IN SPACE -PASSY 2023

I started a personal project to create some colourful and interesting studies in honour of just a few of the many sculptures located within the commune of Passy.

I was fortunate to be present for the evening ‘Cabaret de Poésie’ in March 2023 and consequently captivated by the dialogue and the recital by Jean-Pierre Lemesle – the inspiration behind the initial installation of the contemporary sculptures in 1973.

I’m so happy to share these paintings for the 50th anniversary of the original event.

I chose to interpret the poem « QUATRE PORTES POUR QUATRE CHEMINEMENTS » (Four doorways into Four pathways ) represents the principal sculptures which were positioned at the entrance to each circuit of Discovery in 1973. My paintings are the result of a series of sketches and observations created in 2023.

These four original sculptures are still present in Passy.
